Valkyria Chronicles 3?

September 1, 2010

Below is a screencap of a Japanese teaser site containing “Code 1935″ in its URL. The first Valkyria Chronicles game, as many fans would know, was based in a 1935 alternative-universe Europe. What would logic tell us? If that isn’t enough to satisfy speculation Sega has apparently already registered the URL http://valkyria3.jp. Oh, and one last thing: he teaser site specifically states ‘Not to be opened till 9.16′ or September 16, which is also when the Tokyo Game Show starts. What a coincidence huh?

Wrinkle-killing Glasses.

“Embarrassed by those wrinkles starting to appear near your eyes? Slip on these goggle-style glasses and you won’t look tired and old any more! Just wearing the Mejikara for 5 minutes every day will improve the appearance of your face.”

So apparently these things can take years off your life. They supposedly have specially designed ridges on the inside of the goggles that put pressure on the skin and cause the eyes to re-align to where they originally were. They’re made of silicone rubber, and best of all – they’re made in Japan!

1945, The End of War.

And the start of Sony. Following the defeat of Japan in World War 2 Sony’s founder, Masaru Ibuka, attempted to invent an Eletric Rice Cooker. It was released under the banner of the Tokyo Telecommunications Research Institute and was well hidden in the guise of a wooden bucket. Most times the rice cooker was used, it brought some very undesirable results; examples of this were severely undercooked or overcooked rice. The product was never released on the market, and its legacy still lives on in a glass cabinet at the Sony Archives in Shinagawa.

Super Facebook Fighter 4?

August 17, 2010

SF4

Throwdown!

The Nikkei Times have reported that Osaka-based video game developer Capcom has decided to take a piece of the Facebook pie ala FarmVille with games like Resident Evil or Street Fighter as early as next month. Confirmation of the news is not completely ironclad as of yet but the games, if ever to come into existence, will be free. Capcom plans to earn revenue by selling virtual items, much like other games delivered via the websphere. I for one cannot wait to throwdown with my bestie on a Facebook iteration of Street Fighter.

Travelling in Japan? Keitai runs flat? Never Fear! Now days many Japanese convenience stores/hotels have machines that are able to charge your cellphone wether you have the power cord or not. You simply select the model of your phone on the machine’s interface and plug it into a slot. Problem solved.
